Big Question: How many World Cup Games will you watch?

By: WC Bob | May 7th, 2006 | 14 Comments »

The numbers are a bit overwhelming. Sixty-four games crammed into a month period. Even for the most hardcore of fans, watching 5,760 minutes of football in such a short amount of time will take a lot of effort. But if you are like us, you live for the World Cup and you will try your best to watch as much of it as possible even when you have no rooting interest in a game. Today’s Big Question asks you to estimate how many games you will watch.

Will you only watch your own team’s games? Will you watch select teams that interest you? Will you watch every single minute of every single game?

There are 64 games. How many do you think you’ll watch?

I will obviously watch all second round and higher matches…
From the first round I could watch 38 out of 48… so maybe I will miss 10 games.

I am determined to watch every single game. Not sure what people with responsibilities will do but for a college kid catching every second isn’t all that difficult.

I won’t be able to watch 64 once the last games on the 1st stage are played at the same time. So, 56 I guess, unless I get a job before the World Cup.

I would definitely watch matches that has Germany playing in it. And tape others and try watching them all…

By the way, I like the new layout of this blog!

The games will all be played during the day here, but I am self-employed so I have a lot of flexibility.

My goal is to watch EVERY match.

In cases with two games simultaneously, I will be in a bar with two screens showing both games.

I plan on watching the best match per group per day. If both matches of the group excite me, then I’ll try to watch both.

I’ve already planned my vacation to coincide with the start of the knock-out stages; so, I’ll be able to watch all of those matches.

I plan on watching the matches for the teams I’m supporting along with all of the second stage matches so I estimate that to be initially 35. I am building a DVR specifically for the purpose of recording all of the matches so I can catch up on the rest at a later time.

I might not be able to watch every match live,it depends on my daily schedule and only if the kick off time favours me.

50 or 60 games, depending on how many I can tape. And how much I actually have to work when I’m at work during that month.
