Goals From Guinea 1-1 Namibia

By: Laurie | January 28th, 2008 | No Comments »

Souleymane Youla’s goal for Guinea. Check out the perfect service by Mamadou Bah.

Bryan Brendell’s goal for Namibia. (He got booked for that shirt-over-the-face goal celebration.)

This game was a lot more even than I expected. Namibia started slow, but developed momentum as the game went on. The 80th minute goal by Brian Brendell was well-deserved.

Guinea looked great in the midfield but seemed to lose momentum every time they reached the final third, possibly due to the absence of captain and driving force Pascal Feindouno. Or rather, they seemed to lose momentum every time but one. And that one goal was all it took to advance them to the next round.

The final 1-1 result felt right. Namibia get their second ever Africa Cup of Nations point after improving their play in each successive game of the group stage, and Guinea get to move on to the quarterfinals, with a little help from Morocco and Ghana.
