That’s right Ian. Meteoric rise to fame might be an understatement for Gedo. Can’t get better than this at this level. He got one chance and grabbed it by the balls. Shehata’s wisdom in this is something to behold as well. He dropped an established star in Mido to have Gedo in the team. Worked out pretty well eh?

It really was an incredible tournament for Gedo. 5 goals in less than 150 minutes of play is amazing, especially at an international tournament, and with scoring the winner in the final, I hope he is considered for some starts for Egypt. Another cool stat on him – before the tournament, he only had two caps for Egypt – and one goal.
