Africa Cup of Nations 2012
The 2012 Africa Cup of Nations is the 28th edition of Africa’s international football championship. The tournament itself will be held in January 2012 in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
Qualifying
Currently, the only nations that are guaranteed qualification are the hosts, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. Gabon has appeared in four previous AFCON tournaments, but this will be the first appearance for EG.
The other eligible nations are divided into groups, with the group winners and two best runners up qualifying:
Group A: Cape Verde, Liberia, Mali, Zimbabwe
Group B: Guinea, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Nigeria
Group C: Comoros, Libya, Mozambique, Zambia
Group D: Algeria, Central African Republic, Morocco, Tanzania
Group E: Cameroon, Congo DR, Mauritius, Senegal
Group F: Burkina Faso, Gambia, Namibia
Group G: Egypt, Niger, Sierra Leone, South Africa
Group H: Benin, Burundi, Cote d’Ivoire, Rwanda
Group I: Congo, Ghana, Sudan, Swaziland
Group J: Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Uganda
Group K: Botswana, Chad, Malawi, Togo, Tunisia
